This paper should be 2-3 pages in length.
What conclusion did this film bring you to about the relationship between humans and nature? Try move beyond mere generalizations like “civilization is good” or “nature is dangerous.” Consider what worries, concerns, and anxieties about nature come out in this movie. But also consider what kind of joy and refuge it seems to find in nature. Why was this story so compelling that it merited a book and a movie?
Since this is a paper about your impression of the film, it’s perfectly acceptable to write in the first person. I am interested in what YOU think. However, you must give evidence of where your conclusions and impressions come from. You must make your take on the film convincing and show that it is reasonable—this is where the argument or thesis comes in. In order to back up your argument, you must describe scenes that illustrate your points and give sufficient context for those descriptions. Where appropriate, you should quote exact words or paraphrase what was said, and these will need proper in-text citations.
As always, this paper must include a bibliography with a citation for Into the Wild.
