Doing Learning Record observations

Observations are just that — observations. They're a record of something you did. You don't need to record how you felt about it. It's helpful to pick moments where you learned something, but a plain observation of just doing something is fine.

If you'd like, you can look at some examples.

Once you've got an idea, log into your Learning Record and:

  1. Enter the date when the activity you're observing occurred. Make your observations within 48 hours of the event. After that, you'll have forgotten many of the details.
  2. Select a context, context, and a brief activity description.
  3. Write up your observation. Make it short. Three sentences is a good length, but a slightly longer or shorter observation is fine.
  4. Click Save.

The system will make a note of the exact time when you made the observation. I may (or may not) comment on any given observation. You can view all of your observations at any time by clicking "Observations" in the menu at the right of your Learning Record.
