ACADEMIC INTERESTS
I'm currently writing my dissertation on the Elizabethan complaint poem. Besides formulating a needed definition of the long-neglected genre, I'm also examining how complaint literature mirrors the life of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots.
In addition to the complaint, my academic interests include Shakespeare, Elizabethan history, detective fiction, genre theory, and poetry in general. I am also fascinated by the influence of film on popular culture, the American Civil Rights movement, and the novels of Charles Dickens.
