Response Paper: Metro Sexuality; Tom Cruise

Definition of metrosexual: A normally straight male who possesses qualities of a gay male without being attracted to men. A straight man who embraces the homosexual lifestyle, i.e. refined tastes in clothing, excessive use of designer hygiene products, etc.
Some characteristics are shaving or waxing his legs, upper body, arms, privates, and/or other parts of his body aside from the face. He spends a relatively high amount of time in front of his mirror before leaving his house, performing some of the following tasks:

As we look back in history, individuals who longed for a better life, full of freedoms and more opportunities, founded America. For the past two hundred years, immigrants have migrated from all over the world to our wonderful nation in hopes of starting over, becoming successful and leading improved, finer lives. “The American Dream” however, is becoming more and more outdated and because of this the European Dream is capturing the attention of the rest of the world. The European Union, an emerging nation, is rising from the ashes and causing quite a reaction from other countries. No longer is the American Dream being envied as it has been since its foundation, but a newer more innovated way of living is the latest crave being messaged to the world. Jeremy Rifkin, author of “The European Dream; How Europe’s Vision of the Future is Quietly Eclipsing the American Dream”, argues with an assortment of statistics portraying that slowly but surely Europe’s dream is turning into a reality, focusing on an alternative way of life; one that offers cultural diversity, interdependence, universal human rights and prosperity as we move towards the future.

Sex Ed; Not Only Obvious, but Necessary

My Thesis: “As the increase in teenage pregnancies and contractions of sexually transmitted diseases rise at an alarming rate, the availability of condoms in high schools seems an obvious and even necessary option.”

The increase of contracting sexually transmitted diseases at young ages, including HIV/AIDS, as well as teen pregnancies has been on the minds of parents and teachers alike. Research has shown a method of aiding in this rising epidemic; readily accessible condoms and contraceptives in high schools. This method along with establishing an extensive sexual health education program tied to high school curriculum is not only a necessary option but a healthy way of informing our youth about the benefits of making healthy life choices
