RHE 310 - Intermediate Expository Writing
Rodney Herring — Thu, 06/21/2007 - 14:09
RHE 310 is an intermediate-level workshop in writing and editing designed for students who want to begin thinking in more sophisticated ways about their audiences and to learn and experiment with methods of shaping their writing for those audiences. In considering style and readability, we will examine the writing of others—in publication, as well as others in the class—to observe conventions of dialect (vocabulary and syntax) and voice, noting how these conventions predominate in different genres and contexts and for different audiences. Such examination will prepare us to understand the grammatical choices available when we write so that we can make stylistic choices with purpose and for effect.
