Overview
Welcome to RHE 309K – The Rhetoric of Church & State. It is important to keep in mind that the Topics in Writing courses offered by the Department of Rhetoric & Writing use the instructor-selected topic as a way to study the rhetoric associated with that topic. In other words, this is not a course in the methods of history, politics, philosophy or theology. More likely than not, whatever positions you hold on the issues of church-state separation coming into this course you will continue to hold after this semester is over. You may, however, find yourself thinking differently about the ways in which people debate the issues of church-state separation.
